Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos)

Mallard are one of the worlds most widespread birds, and a common sight in southern Spain.

Males (Breeding) – Striking green head with large yellow bill and white neck collar. The chest is dark chocolate brown and the rest of the body is largely pale grey. The stern is black.

Females – Streaked brown with darker crown and eye stripe. Pale bill.IMG_3804
